JOAN-BAPTISTA OTERO OPERA COLLECTION
Directed by conductor and musicologist Joan-Baptista Otero, together with the stage music specialist Isidro Olmo, our full-score opera collection present a unique corpus of opera and stage music proceeding mainly from the Spanish and Italian XVIIIth century opera patrimony which, to the greatest extent, has not been published until now.
Since over 20 years we have been producing and editing our own full opera scores, first for our opera productions and recordings and, on a second stage, creating our own publishing department, RCOC Editorial. As the result of our opera productions and recordings activity, we have produced an extensive catalogue of opera editions, some of which we served partially in the 90s to some libraries, and which we have comprised in a catalogue which integrates all the new editions together with the new extended reeditions.
Heading a team of new generation european musicologists, Otero and Olmo offer a critical and practical performance approach to each edition, prepared and faced with a thorough criteria of respect and intensive research on the available manuscript sources corresponding to each work. All Otero Editions include an introductory essay by the editors, the full score critical edition with the variant quotations from the available manuscripts, and the complete original libretto, in a moder corrected edition. Referent composers include first complete critical editions of works by, among others, Domenico Scarlatti, Martín i Soler, Terradellas, Porpora, David Pérez, Mazzoni, Galuppi, Jommelli or Conforto.
An exclusive XVIIIth. century full score opera catalogue, featuring over 35 volumes of mostly first world critical editions of eminent XVIIIth. century opera composers, focused on libraries and academical institutions worldwide.
